Japan has provided grant assistance worth more than US$368,000 for new school in Laos

The government of Japan has provided grant assistance worth more than US$368,000 (about 3 billion kip) for the construction of new school facilities through its Grant-in-Aid Scheme for Grassroots Human Security Projects.

Work will be carried out at a primary school and three lower secondary schools located in four provinces.

The grant contracts for these four projects were signed yesterday at the Ministry of Education and Sports between Ambassador of Japan to Laos Mr Hiroyuki Kishino and four directors of Education and Sports Departments, representing the respective provinces and districts.

Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Ms Sengdeuane Lachanthaboun, senior education officials and other invited guests were present at the grant signing ceremony.
